New version EBook

New version EBook Solar System.
The long silence in our News Room has only been apparent, as a lot has happened behind the scenes.
We are very happy that we can now announce the new version 2.2 of our EBook Solar System.
It is a thoroughly revised version and is updated to the very latest developments in Solar system astronomy.
We have also added a set of 12 PowerPoint presentations that follow the chapters of the EBook. This set is an alternative and complete teaching resource in its own right.
We have decided to discontinue updating the printed materials that went with the previous versions of our EBook and go fully digital. This means that we can make this great resource more affordable than ever, and now offer our Solar System EBook in its new version for a mere NZ$ 63!
The remaining stock of the assessment materials from the previous EBook versions is now available at cost price. This still is a valuable resource as it consists of eight assessments that follow the EBooks’ chapters, together with the Teacher Reference booklet which contains the fully worked answers to these assessments, all printed in full colour on high gloss paper.

New Free Resources
Sunday, 27th September 2009
We have uploaded two new modules in our Free Resources area.
1. In our "Stellar..." series we have added "Stellar Evolution", that discusses the life cycle of stars.
2. As a spin off from a recent course we gave, we have added to our FRS-series the module "A Sense of Scale" that attempts to explain the uncomprehensible, i.e. the true scale and emptiness of the Universe.

New Free Resources
Wednesday, 6th May 2009
We have added two new modules to our Free Resources:
Stellar Radiation, The electro-magnetic spectrum in Astronomy.
Stellar Velocity, How astronomers measure velocity of celestial objects.
The module Distance 1.3 has been renamed Stellar Distance 1.3
Our catalogue has been reorganised.
The modules with product code FRxx are now arranged in the logical order as we suggest for reading them. This will give the reader maximum benefit without the need to go back and forth between modules.
The modules with product code FRSxx are typically stand-alone and can be taken at any time.
More is to come. Join our mailing list to be informed by email of future updates.

Glossary updated
Thursday, 2nd April 2009
We have updated our Glossary to include a search field for very easy manual search for entries. This affects the links to anchors from our resources. For that reason we have updated the Free Resource "Distance" (now version 1.3) to link to the new Glossary.
If you have downloaded the Distance module before today, you will want to download the new version, to make sure that the Glossary links are working properly. We will maintain the old Glossary files until 1 May 2009, but after that date the old links will not work.
Those who have ordered the EBook Solar System before 31 March 2009, will automatically receive a disk with the updated version, to replace the old one.
We apologise for the inconvenience, but this upgrade is a major improvement of our Glossary system and it had to be made before we add new Resources to our catalogue. It is unlikely that we will have such major modifications in the future.
